Is it True that Japan Announces Total Ban on All Anime Exports?

“If you want to watch anime, you’ll have to move to Japan,” said Prime Minister Abe Shinzo in a press conference shortly following the announcement of the ban.

This is a very eye-catching statement and for someone who loves anime you would really be alarmed and decide to share it.  However, the question here is that is it actually true?  If Japan is banning anime then why is Netflix expanding its anime titles?

OMGaijin!, the website which published the article seems to be a satire site - a source of fake news. What is our proof?  Just head over to its about page and you will see this.

OMGaijin is your best source for satirical news covering all aspects of life in Japan.

The problem with news like this is some people would just read the title, be shocked and share it.  Sites also need to know the difference between satire and those that has a tendency to create confusion among the public.

Satire is defined as the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues. OMGaijin! anime ban article proves to have stick to this definition because upon reading the whole article you will not really believe it.

Conclusion:  Anime is here to stay!
