Scandal Ticket Controversy and Fiasco?

Fans all over the Philippines are super happy when Primetrade Asia, Inc. announced that the popular Japanese all girl group Scandal will be performing in Manila.  This happiness however turned into bitterness, mayhem and controversy when ALL SCANDAL TICKETS WERE SOLD OUT in just a span of less than a day and even before the announcement of the official ticket selling as alleged.

The Scandal Controversy

In an official statement Primetrade Asia, Inc. issued an apology saying that they still want to open slots for more tickets.  Despite the apology, however, most fans are not taking it and went to give their comments and rants.

We are very grateful for the interest shown for the upcoming SCANDAL ASIA TOUR 2018 "HONEY" IN MANILA. Due to the high demand and limited quantity of the Emperor’s and Fan Meet Passes available for public sale, the tickets had been sold fast through SM Ticket’s largest network with 77 branches nationwide and online platform. And, because of the technicalities of the ticketing system, the tickets were made available for purchase online earlier than the announcement and the advised schedule to the Promoter. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. While we cannot commit to anything in the meantime, we are doing our best to find ways to be able to welcome more attendees. Thank you.

Primetrade Asia's Facebook Page also received tons of negative reviews pulling their rating down to 1.6.  This is to be expected since many have really waited for the selling of tickets only to find out that it was sold out.

What happened to the Scandal tickets?

According to sources online, it was alleged that some tickets are bought enmass and then are being sold for a higher price.  According to a post by blogger Ray-An Posadas, a VIO ticket is now sold for Php11,000 - Php12,000.  Previous price of this scandal ticket concert is only at Php5,000.

Despite being sold out, I checked StubHub, a website for concert tickets and it seems they have Scandal tickets on sale but prices soared to almost double.

The Emperor Ticket which is the highest priced ticket is only at Pph8,000 but now this site is selling only VIP tickets at more than the Emperor Pass.  Is this site allowed to do this?  Is it not scalping in a sense?

Here are supposed tickets as announced by Primetrade Asia on February 18.

Resolving the Scandal Ticket Controversy

What should be done in resolvging issues such as this?  In some way, is this not ticket hoarding and scalping?  Is there no regulation regarding the maximum number of tickets to be sold and the official entity to sell tickets?

I believe that sites like StubHub is making use of this concert popularity to earn a lot of money and their prices are way too high already.  Are they a legitimate online ticket reseller?  I do not know.

What do you think about this issue?  Whatd do you think should be done?

I am utterly confused as well.
