Adventure Time will end after Ninth Season Airs in 2018

Cartoon Network's cartoon hit Adventure Time will officially end after its 9 season airs in 2018. The final season is currently in production, the show will air new half-hour episodes, specials and more between now and its finale 2 years from now.

Adventure Time has become one of the most successful shows Cartoon Network has ever had, leading the way to a renaissance of new animated series on the channel, like Regular Show and Steven Universe.

Rob Sorcher, chief content officer for Cartoon Network, said:

It’s championed its own unique art style and brand of intricate world-building, along with being delightfully weird, funny, and often times heartwarming. Although we’ve still got a few more years in the Land of Ooo, it’s sad to know we’re now on borrowed time.
