Genshin Impact's First Dendro Character is Finally Here!

HoYoverse has confirmed that the open-world adventure RPG Genshin Impact's Version 3.0 update will be released on August 24. The upcoming expansion, titled Version 3.0 "The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings," not only includes Sumeru, the fourth of the game's seven major nations, but it also includes the Dendro element gameplay, the final piece of Genshin Impact's seven-element system.

Sumeru
, located west of Liyue, is divided into two major regions: rainforest and desert. When the game is released, players will be able to explore the dense rainforest and the numerous settlements nestled within it, such as Sumeru City and Port Ormos. Sumeru has the most prestigious historical institution, the Akademiya, which was founded by scholars loyal to the previous Archon Dendron, the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. Lesser Lord Kusanali succeeded the previous Dendro Archon 500 years ago, making her the youngest of The Seven, and the Akademiya came to power as the state's governing body, turning knowledge into a strictly managed resource.

The Dendro element will be playable for the first time, along with a brand-new series of elemental chain reactions. When combined with the Pyro, Hydro, and Electro elements, it can cause three different basic reactions: burning, blooming, and catalyzing.

  • Bloom and Catalyze can evolve into new reactions during combat. When Dendro collides with Hydro, the Bloom reaction spawns one or more Dendro Cores, which deal delayed explosive Dendro damage.
  • If these Dendro Cores come into contact with Pyro or Electro before exploding, they can activate the Burgeon reaction, increasing their AoE Dendro DMG, or the Hyperbloom reaction, which transforms Dendro Cores into Sprawling Shots that can track down nearby enemies.
  • The Catalyze reaction is derived from Dendro and Electro, and it can apply the Quicken effect to affected targets while also increasing the damage taken from the next Dendro or Electro hit by activating the Spread or Aggravate reactions.

First 5-star Dendro character, Tighnari.

Dendro characters will also be added to the playable roster. As the Traveler, players can unlock Dendro's power at the Statue of The Seven in Sumeru and have the opportunity to recruit two Dendro archers. Tighnari, a five-star character, is a sweet young researcher and Forest Watcher. Tighnari's Charged Attack and Elemental Burst can both deal damage over multiple phases, making him an excellent choice for triggering Dendro-based chain reactions. Collei, Tighnari's pupil, will be joining as a four-star, and for a limited time, players can recruit her for free by completing the Graven Innocence, 3.0's main seasonal event.

First 4-star Dendro character, Collei.

Dori, a four-star Electro support character, will join the game alongside the Dendro characters. Dori is a shady merchant in Sumeru who wields a claymore. With her Elemental Burst, she can help nearby team members regain HP and energy. During the first half of the update, Tighnari, Collei, and Zhongli will be available in the Event Wishes, followed by Dori and Ganyu's and Sangonomiya Kokomi's reruns.
