COSPLAYER PROFILES: Tomas Jefferson Hernandez

Have you seen an epic Goku or Trunks cosplay in any major cosplay convention? Well if you have then perhaps you have already seen Tomas Jefferson Hernandez. Tomas is the founder of the Z Warriors cosplay group, a dedicated Dragonball Z cosplay group.

"I cosplay for fun only, to express how i love Dragonball and to bring honor cosplay to Philippine cosplay through Dragonball cosplaying," said Tomas. Tomas is also a osplay photographer by the way when not in costume.

Tomas' first cosplay was during Ozinefest 2007.  Friends, toys, deviantART.com, Facebook and his Dragonball cosplay idols are what inspired him to start cosplaying.  Since 2007, he had brought to life many of the Dragonball Z characters with a bang.  These cosplay includes Normal future Trunks, Dragonball Evolution action movie Son Goku, normal Son Goku, Dragonball GT version of Son Goku, battle damage Super Saiyan Son Goku, Yamcha, Tao Pai Pai, and Super Saiyan Trunks.  Super Saiyan Trunks was also featured and gained acclaim in the Otaku House Cosplay Idol.

I commonly called Tomas as Goku when I meet him during cosplay events.  Wonder what is his best experience in cosplay?  According to Goku, his best experience in cosplaying so far is when he cosplayed the Great Saiyaman Gohan.

"Portraying wacky & energetic character  is not new to me, it comes out so natural inside me and the feeling is so good when you know  you put a smile and joy to people who appreciated you," he said.

Dragonball Z WARRIORS is always on top of Tomas' cosplay dreams.  "I would love to see my Dragonball Z WARRIORS cosplay group on stage doing cospaly skits, meets quality costumes, do epic photoshoots, grow with passion, more unity and harmony in the group," he said.

I had been part of the Z Warrior cosplay group as Master Pogi or Mr. Satan although I would say I am not the first one to cosplay Master Pogi.  I would say these people are really awesome and takes cosplaying to a higher level.

One of the group photos of the Z WARRIORS was posted at Tokyo Otaku Mode.  It is  Facebook page for Otakus around the world and the group was recognized for their cosplay but still there is some sort of discrimination.  To this Tomas said, "I would like to see people in other countries without racial discrimanations to recognize the Z WARRIORS through Dragonball cosplaying for Philippine cosplay."

Here is Tomas' message to his fellow cosplayers:
My message to all cosplayers, always remember that cosplay is for fun only, always enjoy it, be humble and respect each other in the community.
