After a long hiatus in the story of Hunter X Hunter everyone became excited with the news of a new Hunter X Hunter dubbed as Hunter X Hunter 2011. However, some are frustrated to find out that it was in fact not a new story but an alternate retelling of the original story.
Hunter X Hunter 2011 tells of the story of a boy living on a small island. He learns that his father who he doesn't remember is an extremely famous man and an amazing hunter. Gon takes the hunter exam to seek out his fater, but he soon learns that the challenges he must face will be beyond his imaginations.
I have seen the first episode and all I can say is that this retelling is faster than the original and it might be because the writers want to really go to the part where they want to continue the story. If we will remember the previous Hunter X Hunter ended in Greed Island where Gon sees a man who seems to look like his father.
The story continued in the manga but failed to continue in the animated series. The manga was later on cut short by hiatus after hiatus of the author of the series. Now one question remains, would this retelling eventually continue the story?
Well, we just have to see it ourselves.
