Why did Hiroshi Kitadani missed singing One Punch Man theme?

Perhaps some of you might be all pumped up and waiting for Hiroshi Kitadani to sing the opening song of One Punch Man, "The Hero/"  I am one of those who were anticipating that he will sing the song and was frustrated that he missed out the song.  Why did Hiroshi missed out One Punch Man?

This post aims to find out the answer behind that question.  Since I was also sad not to hear it from him, I decided to search the song in YouTube and found an official video.  This video which you will see below features the entire JAM Project.

JAM stands for Japan Animationsong Makers which is composed of :

  1.  Hironobu Kageyama (Dragon Ball Z “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA”)
  2. Masaaki Endoh(Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s “BELIEVE IN NEXUS”)
  3. Hiroshi Kitadani (ONE PIECE “We Are!”)
  4. Masami Okui (Revolutionary Girl Utena “Rondo-revolution”)
  5. Yoshiki Fukuyama(MACROSS 7 “SEVENTH MOON”)
We further found out that the word and music of the song from One Punch Man is made by Hironobu Kageyama.  This means that Hiroshi cannot use the song without express permission from his and also the other members of JAM Project.

What is JAM Project?

JAM Project is a group composed of powerful singers representing the anisong industry.  All of their members have powerful voices and the project itself aims to create the /appropriate theme songs for the highly evolved Japanese animation.

The very first world tour of JAM Project was in 2008 entitled No Border.  During this tour they performed in 10 cities in 8 countries.  Among their performance stops were in Taiwan, Brazil, The United States, Korea, China (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong), Mexico, France and Spain.

JAM Project in the Philippines

We can see that Hiroshi Kitadani was satisfied about his performance in the Philippines.  He also announced about JAM Project.  This might in fact open the door for the entire team to come to the Philippines in the near future.

Would you like to see JAM Project in the Philippines?  I certainly would...
