Naruto Cosplayers PH (NCPH), Red Cloud Events and Productions and Anime Cosplay Empire (ACE) successfully concluded its 1st Otaku Choice Awards 2013 declaring Hero TV, Dragon Nest and ABS-CBN as among the winners.
The winners were based on the voting done online at www.narutocosplayers.com from April 21, 2013 to May 21, 2014 from among the nominees submitted by the community. Lie Pagtalunan, one of the National Officers of NCPH is the key person behind the Otaku Choice Awards concept. During the awarding ceremonies he also served as the host together with Animax Ani-mate Rhianna Floresca.
Among the nominees, Scandal got the highest number of votes with over 16,000 for Best Japanese Band. The choice for Best Male and Best Female Cosplayer were also intense as the voting soars to nearly 10,000 votes. Best Male Cosplayer was given to Zeek Santos and the Best Female Cosplayer wast awarded to Elizabeth Ortega.
Besides the winners for the Best Otaku Choice Awards, the event also awarded OTAKU ICONS to key personalities in the community which includes: Pablo Bairan, Male Cosplayer; Alodia Gosiengfiao, Female Cosplayer; Jay Tablante, Cosplay Photography; Otaku Urule, Otaku Organization; UP AME, Otaku Organization; Otakuzine, Events; and Collectibles Unlimited, Events.
