HERO TV is back!

A dramatic farewell where thousands of fans are so devastated because their beloved Anime channel is bidding goodbye.  It was one of the saddest things for anime in the Philippines.  But after a few weeks, to the surprise of everyone - HERO is back!

What is the new HERO TV?

Weeks after a very sad HERO TV farewell, HERO announces its return as a digital platform not only for anime but also for pop culture and gaming content.  The new HERO format will produce anime, pop culture, and gaming contents through its various digital platforms. HERO will utilize its website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube pages to deliver the freshest news and updates for its avid followers. Despite its departure from television, HERO says that they will still be able to deliver stories that fans would love through the digital space. Note that HERO will not be airing anime titles anymore.

Digitally speaking, HERO has currently 301,975 likes on Facebook, 5,445 followers on Twitter and 3,857 followers on Instagram.  They said that their goal is to deliver top quality contents for its avid followers and become the ultimate go-to for anything anime, pop culture and gaming-related articles and videos.

Community reacts to Hero TV comeback

Most of the fans were surprised indeed by the announcement.  Many are also annoyed at how HERO played the marketing stunt for this change in their platform.  They came up with all the farewell and stuff only to reveal that they will return in a different format.

It was clearly a marketing strategy so that the announcement of the change in concept will be followed by fans.  There will be those who will no longer be a fan of HERO because this is not the platform that they want in the first place.

As for me, upon reading at first I thought that they will be a digital platform for anime where you can "legally" watch and download anime but upon reading it fully it is different.  They will just be a page providing various updates and content on anime, pop culture, and gaming.

In the end, I think it is worth supporting HERO since this is still a place where we all came to love and will continue to love.
