Afro Samurai

Afro Samurai was first a doujinshi manga series created by Takashi Okazaki in 1999 and ended in 2000 with only 2 volumes published. Then it was adapted into a 5 episode anime directed by Fuminori Kizaki and produced by Gonzo.

The anime series began 4th of January 2007 and ended 1st of Febuary 2007 with 5 episodes in total. However afro samurai wasn't just your average japanese anime, it had unique and legendary actors for the voice acting like Samuel L. Jackson for the main character afro and also features Ron Perlman and Kelly Hu. They even had a Wu-Tang Clan member RZA produced the original hip hop musical score.

Then with great success a film was made called "Afro Samurai: Resurrection" which was first released in USA on January 25th 2009. And if that was not enough, an "Afro Samurai" videogame was even created by Namco and released January 27th 2009.
